I have been designing lingerie and lingerie adjacent accessories, and officially launched Madame ChouChou, formerly Bettie Fatal, in 2014. After developing an obsessive addiction for lingerie as a way to explore my body image, I found a huge gap in terms of diversity in the market. Because of this, I worked hard to develop a brand with a focus on body positivity, equal representation, and self love. Each piece has been designed with sizes XS-3XL in mind, to ensure any person may feel comfortable in my designs. Madame Chou Chou will continue to work hard to uphold the ethics standards set up by bringing you beautiful designs with the consumer in mind. Inspiration is taken from art and fashion history, nature, travels, and dreamy stories. I hope to bring a spark to your drawer, a twinkle to your eye, and a fierceness you cannot contain. Madame Chou Chou values and supports the LGBTQ2S+ community, sex workers, and minorities. I am anti-diet, body accepting, an advocate for BLM, and will continue to work hard to make sure my brand upholds these values.
Avery Barsony is the owner of Madame Chou Chou. She designs and drafts every piece you see and has built this business from the ground up. She also photographs and directs all photoshoots. Avery graduated from Fashion Design at Ryerson University and is a self professed lingerie addict who strives to create a diverse new brand that speaks to a volume of people the way that mainstream brands do not. She wants to bring a much needed change in the lingerie industry and represent Canada. Avery has been single-handedly running this brand since it's opening and puts her heart and soul into everything she creates.
